Each year, my city has a Fire Extravaganza in the parking lot of Wal-mart. It's an all day event for the family, including raffles for TONS of gift baskets (which include gift certificates to stores and restaurants) and bike raffles, a fire truck and ambulance on display for kids to tour, a fire hose the kids can hold and turn on to aim at a target, a fire safety house, a K9 demonstration, a fire-rescue excavation demonstration (complete with the jaws of life) and a bunch of local vendors vying for you business. Its fun, and with the interest Nate shows in fire trucks, I had marked this day on my calendar a while ago, looking forward for this day to come. The kid seriously knows where like 4 fire stations are, and every time we drive by them, he looks to see if the doors are open so that he can see the fire truck. He just LOVES fire trucks, or Tire trucks, as he calls them. Well, that day finally came- yesterday. I'll add some more pictures later, but here is one of Nate after he got to dress up like a fireman.
