Chill Out

YAY....its going to be chilly out. Tomorrow a front comes through, a REAL front, bringing a low into the 50s tomorrow. However, on Wednesday the high only reach about 60, which is lower than our normal lows are around here. The low for Wednesday night will be around 42, making the "feels like" temps in the 30's. Brrrrrrr. I LOVE IT. The next couple of days after that will be awesome as well, though not nearly as chilly with a high of 72 for Thursday and 75 for Friday.

Ok, so are you tired of my weather report yet? Sorry. It is my blog, and I LOVE weather, especially when I goes in my favor. I could just talk about this all day. So I will talk about something else.

Weight loss. I've been stuck in the same group of 10 lbs for three months. I should have been down another 20lbs at least by now, so I have no one to blame but myself. And Reese's peanut butter cups. I have to give them some blame. Who is so tasty sweet, rich and creamy, with just the right hint of peanut butter, and then gets off the hook for making people overweight? Its not fair, and I plan to take down all peanut butter cups.

But anyway, seriously, I didn't necessarily fall off the wagon, its more like the peanut butter cup pushed me off (or tried to) and I was hanging behind the wagon by a rope, trying to climb back up. But when the wagon is going like 100mph, its not an easy feat. So here I am, the wagon pulled over by the police for speeding, giving me the perfect opportunity to get back on, which is the plan. (Did I just lose you with my attempt to be funny? Sorry.) I am currently only now down 29lbs exactly, thanks to an almost 7 lb gain in the last 2 weeks, YIKES. Did you know it was possible to only gain 7 lbs and feel as if you just gained back the entire 36 you lost? Well, I feel like I gained THAT much. But I am ready for round 2. The past three months I should have been giving this 100%, and I was only giving it about 45%. I'm tired of being on this roller coaster, and I'm ready to get to the end of this ride. I have a gym membership that I bought the Monday after Thanksgiving, a Cyber Monday deal which turned out to be a really good deal, and I have every intention on using it. Now, I've been subconsciously making excuses as to why I shouldn't go to the gym. I have a bad shoulder (left side, no idea what happened, but for a few months now I have pain when I use it to lift things, or just when I lift it up above my head or behind my back). I think I've let my brain convince me that without being able to use my arm in my workouts it wasn't worth going to the gym for, which by the way, is not true. I can do cardio, and I can do weight training with my lower half of my body and my abs. I could work out my right arm but then I would look funny. In any case, I don't forsee my shoulder feeling better in the near future, but I can't wait on it forever to workout......and I don't need to. I can workout without my arm, and I will.

2008 is going to start a new year for me. I will finish this journey THIS year. After that, I start a whole new one trying to maintain, but thats a whole different ballgame. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Enjoy the weather where you are. If you're cold....think of me and how much I love it. :)

New Feature

Ok, so I totally stole this idea from my sis-in-law Wendi's blog, however I thought it would be very appropriate to add this feature to my blog as well. Since I am inconsistent with my blog updates, you can now sign up for an automatic update whenever a blog is posted. Then you few readers who check my blog daily to see if I've posted anything, and find out that I indeed did not, can now be alerted when a new post is up.

Something To Think About

Not to sound down, but this time of year always makes my heart heavy for those less fortunate than us. It's also the time of year where I wish I had so much more than I have in order to bless others with awesome gifts, and yet I usually find myself stressed out because I can't give more. Then there are stories, like the one I'm about to share, that help me realize that things aren't as bad as they could be, and that I am very fortunate to be where I am. Contentment is key, and these stories help put that back into perspective for me, right when I need it.

I would also encourage everyone to give something if they could, even if its just a dollar, to this poor family. It breaks my heart to hear these types of stories, but at the same time I am always blessed and surprised at seeing the responses of communities that pull together to help someone in a time of need.

Click here to read the story. (WARNING, this may be a tear jerker!) You can also google "Andrue Smith" and stories will come up if you need to read more or get more information.

And remember, the most awesome gift you can give this family is your prayer. Please remember to pray for them.

Awesome Video

If you have a moment, watch this incredible video of a skit a church put on to a song called Everything by Lifehouse. While you are watching the skit, make sure to pay attention to the song. I honestly got goosebumps during this video, and I hope it moves you the same way, too.

(oh and guess what.....its going to be chilly tomorrow. YAY. Its going to "feel like" the 40's. YAY!)

Disney Trip

This past Sunday, Ray's parents, Ray, and I went to Disney world with Grace and Nate. Grace has been before, almost exactly three years ago, and a little older than Nate is now. This was Nate's first time, and both kids had a great time. We went Sunday night from 7pm-12a for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which featured free hot chocolate, apple juice, cookies and apple slices throughout the park all night. Yum. Then we went all day Monday. Here are some pics from our trip:

Grace with Grandma as we told her we were at
Disney World. We kept it a surprise.

Nate trying to catch the fake snow flurries down Main Street.

Nate meets Chipmunk. Nate attacks Chipmunk with hugs.

Grace dancing with Goofy.

Nate was amazed with the fireworks. We were amazed with
Nate, since Grace was SO terrified of the fireworks
when we took her to Magic Kingdom, we had to find some
place indoors to take her until the show was over.

Grace and I in front of Cinderella's Castle. At this particular moment,
Grace did not want her picture taken in front of the castle.

However, a few minutes later, she changed her mind as girls often do,
and wanted her picture taken in front of the castle. So...here she is with Ray.

This was a glimpse of some show going on right
before closing at midnight in front of the castle.

Another shot of the castle.

Nate with Grandpa on the Train.

Grace and Nate talking to the ducks. Quack, Quack!

Nate and Daddy in the Swiss Family Robinson's Tree House.

Ray, the kids, and I in the SFR Tree House.
And yeah, I have no clue what Grace is doing....

Grace meeting Sleeping Beauty, aka Princess Aurora,
and showing her the Sleeping Beauty on her shirt.

Saying goodbye to Sleeping Beauty, who happens
to now outrank Cinderella as Favorite Princess.

Grace meeting Cinderella.

Goodbye pose with Cinderella.

Nate meeting Mickey. The kid has no fear, just walks
right up as if he's known Mickey his whole life.

Nate kisses Mickey.

Goodbye hug.

Nate waiting to ride Dumbo.

Grace, Nate and I just about to get on the ride

Where'd Nate go? Here I am!!!

Here are some pics I've taken over the last few days. I figured since I'm a poor blogger, the least I could do is give y'all some pics to look at.

I just LOVE this pic. I think they look almost like a heart.

This is Nate's "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?" impression

Peek-a-boo!

To the naked eye this may look like the pic of a child going down the slide.
On the contrary, this is Nate going UP the slide.

Hi

Having fun

Isn't he just the cutest little boy ever?

Grace wasn't able to do this when she was his age.
In fact, I think she may have been closer to being 3 years old.
He's just a natural climber!

My little Grace....so pretty

Ray, Grace, and I after Grace's elementary school Christmas program
(Nate was not there and was being watched by a friend since he's way too
active to take to quiet places where you need to sit for any period of time)

Gracie after her program in her Christmas dress. How cute!
