Grace's second major haircut

Well yesterday, Grace received her second major haircut. I say "major" because it wasn't just a trim. I was a real haircut. Thisis actually her third haircut. The first was just a trim. The scond was about 2 inches, gve or take. This time, we had three cut off. I know, I know, I did not want to part with her beautiful long, curly locks, but it needed to be done. I, on a DAILY basis, fight with Grace over brushing her hair. She cries and screams even though I am trying to be as careful as can be, even if I only tug just a slight bit. I have come to the conculsion that she does this ONLY with me, and that if anyone else were to brush it, this occurence would no longer exist. Hence, the cutting of Grace's mane.

Ebay

Ebay is a very fun place to shop. You find something you want to buy at a cost that is usually lower than what you would pay in the store. You bid on the item and once the end of the auction arrives, it can get very exciting, especially when you are trying to outbid someone else.

Ebay can also be a very fun place to sell. I just listed my very first item to sell on Ebay on Saturday. I listed a quilt (see pic above) I bought at Target about a year ago. Ray didn't like it and so its been sitting in my closet ever since. We threw away the packaging it came with and so I was unable to return it. I paid around $80 for the quilt and so i thought it was fair to list the item at $49.99. Well, with 4 days left, the bids are already at $91. The same quilt had also just sold about a week ago for $139. Now, a buyer paying $139 for a $80 quilt is pretty absurd, however, as a seller of this item I think its a great idea! So, it will be interesting to see what the winning bid comes to. To the quilt's defense, it has been discontinued at Target, so perhaps that is why these frenzied buyers are bidding so much. I'm just happy that I'm going to get back what I paid for it.

Tidbits

Here are some little tidbits from life right now:

  1. Nate is teething once again. This kid is a marathon teether. He got his first tooth when he was 5 months and 15 days old. His second tooth came in a mere 5 days later. Now, 2 days away from the day he turns 7 months old, he is about to get his third. This is early in comparison to Grace, who got her first tooth when she was 7 months and 9 days old. It took 7 days to get her second tooth. This is the same kid who, at his 4 month well check (baby check ups) I asked the Dr if he was teething and I was made foolish for thinking such a young child could possibly be teething. Yeah, he might not have been getting a tooth that day, but the kid was teething.
  2. Also on the milestone board is the precursor to crawling........Nate is now up on hands and knees and can rock back and forth. In reverse to the teeth scenarios, Grace actually did this when she was 7 days shy of being 6 months old. Then it took her until the day she turned 7 months old to crawl and the day after that, she pulled herself up to a standing position. Yikes. Nate will soon be flying through the house, however, we'll have to see just how muc longer it takes him to do so. Needless to say, I am calling each day that he doesn't start a blessing. Because once he starts, well, there's just no stopping him.
  3. Grace will be taking swimming lessons for the very first time in 5 days.
  4. Grace starts school (pre-school) in 1 month and 2 days. Yikes. She will be going 2 days a week, Mondays and Wednesdays. The school opens at 6:45am and the kids can arrive as early as that. They play in the playground until class time starts, which is 8:30am. Grace will probably be there sometime around 7:45-8am. You can choose to pick up your kids at either 12pm, 3pm, or 6pm and Grace will be there until 3pm. She's really excited.
  5. Grace will be FOUR exactly 2 months from today. Yeesh, time flies. Grace is super excited about this, as well. She's already decorating the house for her party. I'm not sure where she got this idea, but its funny, no less. She's also making invitations. I think she went on this kick last year of making invitations. Anyway, we are hoping to give her a birthday party.....a real one, with real friends and everything. Now we almost have to, the poor kid's heart is set on it.
  6. Nate has a mysterious new cough. He's asymptomatic otherwise, so I'm not sure if he needs to go to the dr just yet. My theory is that he is teething pretty hardcore, which is producing a heavy amount of drooling which may be going back down the throat while he's sleeping or in supine position, which would in turn cause him to cough. Anyway, I will keep a close eye on him and if he needs to go to the dr, then we'll be heading over there. I hope he isn't sick. Poor baby has been sick like 3 or 4 times already in his 7 month old life.
  7. Some of you know I am on Weight Watchers. I have been on it since the end of March and I have now lost a total of 21.2 pounds. Yay me! Anyway, I will periodically be updating the blog on my progress. Maybe I'll even post a picture or two soon. We'll see. Maybe I'll just keep you in suspense.

I think that concludes my TIDBIT blog. Come back again soon. You'll never know when I'll post again. =)

Oh yeah and
